Project Reveal: Elegant Farmhouse Part II

Continuing where we left off on the tour of #projectelegantfarmhouse… If you missed Part I, you can go HERE to catch up! This half of the tour includes the more private spaces. There were areas we worked on that, for purposes of time, we weren’t able to photograph, but where there was a lot of detailed design work involved. In all, the AGI team designed custom built-in storage for six rooms at the farm - from an entire dressing room in the master suite, to a built-in day bed and dormer “nightstands” upstairs. It’s unsung details like that give the design gravitas, and make it timeless. You’ll spy some of that handiwork, though!

Possibly my favorite moment in the whole project: the bar! We updated the secret bar with new wallpaper, a soapstone counter, and some on-point styling. Hidden behind the cabinetry: the client’s must-have: a “nugget” ice machine. So good!

In the master bedroom, we simplified and lightened with a fresh paint palette. We had the client’s existing sleigh bed painted, and commissioned custom nightstands in natural pine. Then, we just let the art do the talking!

Upstairs, our clients asked us to design a space that would accommodate their boys when they come home to visit. The boys’ bedroom functions as sleeping quarters, but also as a cool space, where they can play guitar, read, or just hangout.

The custom daybed we designed offers tons of storage, and extra sleeping space for guests who might need to crash.

Another simple, pretty moment. This guest bath offered an opportunity to re-use the pedestal sink from the master bath, as well as a rustic mirror sourced from an antique show.

I hope you enjoyed the tour, and hearing about some of the process behind this incredible project! I’m so proud to say this project was the cover story feature in the Jan/Feb 2020 issue of Southern Home!
